Media Library Categories WP plugin

If you like to be organized, here’s a fantastic WordPress plugin that will categorize your WordPress Media files. I’m surprised this isn’t already a built-in WordPress feature. You create the categories of your choice. Each time you add a new image, pdf or doc file, then it can be placed within a category. Believe me, after you have more than 15 items in your Media library that belong to 10 different areas of your Website, this free plugin is a MUST to have.

This plugin really comes in handy when you have a large amount of photos and you are searching for one that went on a particular slider, or calendar or a blog.

  • In addition to this plugin, I also have used a plugin called “Enhanced Media Library”. Both do the same, but Media Library Categories is compatible starting from WordPress version 3.1 or higher and as of today’s blog publish date date, good through WordPress version 4.6.1. . This is a better range compared to “Enhanced Media Library”.
